We are delighted to welcome Julian Lèonard to our VCQ faculty. He has started working at the Atominstitut of the TU Wien in November 2021. where he is leading the group “Experimental Quantum Information”
Julian Léonard is an experimental physicist working on quantum information and quantum optics. After undergraduate studies at TU Munich and Sorbonne Université Paris, he moved to ETH Zurich for his doctoral research on atom-light interactions. For the past years, he did postdoctoral research at Harvard University on quantum simulations with optical lattices. Awarded the Austrian START prize 2021, he started his own research group at TU Wien in November 2021, where he is building a next-generation quantum processor for applications in quantum computing and quantum materials based on ultracold atoms and optical cavities.
Our PhD school invites you to become part of an active community of young scientists with opportunities to do experimental and/or theoretical research at the forefront of modern quantum science
